EVERY PARISH HAS A STORY
St. Andrew Catholic Parish
Coral Springs
Archdiocese of Miami
Before St. Andrew had a church, they celebrated Mass with an old wooden door as their altar. Today, the Coral Springs parish is filled with stained glass that tells the story of the Catholic faith.

THE STORY
Before St. Andrew had a church, they had a door.
When St. Andrew Catholic Parish was founded in 1969, Coral Springs was still a young and rapidly growing city. Catholics in the area needed a spiritual home, but the new parish didn't have a church building yet. So the community gathered wherever it could—including private homes and public spaces.
And at the parish's first Sunday Mass, an old wooden door was used as the altar. From those humble beginnings, St. Andrew continued to grow alongside Coral Springs. Its first permanent church was dedicated in 1972, a Catholic school followed in 1976, and over the decades the parish developed into the large, multicultural Catholic community it is today.
It's a reminder that a parish isn't really built by a building. It's built by the people who show up before the building even exists.

WHAT MAKES THIS PARISH SPECIAL
A church where the artwork tells the story of the faith.
St. Andrew is filled with sacred art designed to tell the story of Scripture and the Catholic faith. High above the church, two sets of stained-glass windows trace stories from the Old and New Testaments, meeting at the crucifix at the center.
Other windows take visitors through the Creation story, the seven sacraments and several of Jesus' parables. The parish is also home to the Zimmermann Memorial Adoration Chapel, dedicated in 2009, continuing St. Andrew's strong devotion to the Eucharist.
It's the kind of church where the more closely you look, the more there is to discover.
WHAT TO SEE
When you visit, look for:
The St. Andrew statue — Outside the church, a full-size statue depicts the parish's patron holding the distinctive X-shaped cross associated with his martyrdom.
The biblical stained glass — Look up near the roofline. Old Testament scenes appear on one side and New Testament scenes on the other, visually meeting at the crucifix.
The Creation windows — Six windows across the back of the church illustrate the progression of Creation—from chaos and light to animals and humanity.
The Seven Sacraments — Windows in the main church chapel use symbols to represent Baptism, Confirmation, the Eucharist, Matrimony, Holy Orders, Reconciliation and Anointing of the Sick.
The parables of Jesus — Along the nave, another series illustrates seven parables, including the Mustard Seed, the Prodigal Son, the Good Shepherd and the House Built on Rock.
The Zimmermann Memorial Adoration Chapel — Don't leave without seeing the chapel. Its stained glass includes Eucharistic imagery of wheat and grapes, along with other biblical symbols.
